About Domaine du Bramadou:

Under the previous generation, most of the fruit produced was sold off to the local négociants but now, under the care of Damien Chave, small amounts of high-class juice packed with personality are being kept for Damien’s own production. Roaix, we think pronounced like Aix en Provence (though one can never be sure in the south of France), lies to the northwest of Orange next to Rasteau. It was granted Côtes-du-Rhône Villages status in 1967 and is the smallest of its classification. The wines are regarded as full yet mineral. They hold superb freshness thanks to the excellent slopes on which the vines are planted. Le Serre Rouge is a blend of 90% Grenache, 7% Syrah and 3% Mourvèdre from vines averaging forty years of age planted on slopes at 300 metres altitude. It’s a fine example of the appellation showing lots of ripe fruit but also length and vitality. La Montagne de Mars is a great cuvée, made from 100% Syrah planted on the same slopes. It is aged in old oak barrels and displays amazing fragrance on both the nose and through the palate. It is focussed and refined and a wonderful Syrah. The white wine is made from 80% Marsanne and 20% Grenache Blanc whilst the Rosé is made from 95% Cinsault and 5% Grenache.
