Champagne Jean Josselin

This Champagne house is based in the southern part of the region in the Seine Valley. The Josselin family have been growing grapes here since 1854, but it was only in 1957 that they began bottling their own production under the Josselin name. Their vineyards are more steeply sloped than those further north and there is more clay in the soil, meaning the wines tend to be a little richer. The Cuvée des Jean is made from 100% Pinot Noir and shows a lot of character and style for a fizz at this kind of price.
