Domaine de Courcel

Yves Confuron of Vosne fame, has been running this domaine on behalf of the de Courcel family for over 20 years now and continues to churn out powerful, long-living Pommards from old vines and small yields. Yves tends to pick fairly late, allowing his bunches to reach full ripeness. He then leaves the wines to their own devices (he doesn’t de-stem) in mainly older barrels (Yves doesn’t like to falsely tart up his wines) for about 18 months before racking and blending. The domaine is blessed with some excellent plots and has for a long time been one of the go-to names of Pommard.
