About Ciro Picariello:

Based in Summonte near Avellino in Campania, Ciro Picariello and his wife, Rita, craft some fabulously vibrant and mineral whites. The soil is a mix of clay and sand. The high winds of summer and the cool nights mean that maturation arrives gently, increasing complexity and maintaining freshness. Picking occurs quite late, towards the end of October. The training and pruning of the Fiano vines ensure yields are kept low, a fact further compounded by severe selection. The juice is both fermented and aged in stainless steel to maximise the wines’ precision and purity. Both wines have a strong sense of minerality running through them, though there is more matter on the 906. These are very food-friendly and full of personality and dynamism. Great wines.

Ciro Picariello in the press:

“Ciro Picariello is my go-to man for Fiano di Avellino. I had the unique opportunity to taste through Ciro’s wines, starting with the 2004 vintage. If anyone doubts the aging potential of Italian white wines, I urge them to try Ciro’s older Fiano di Avellino wines”
