Charles Van Canneyt

With pretty much everything in his cellar pre-sold every year, in 2013 Charles Van Canneyt decided to launch a quality-focused micro-négoce business to add a few choice appellations to his already enviable range of wines. Aside from a little white and some red Corton, the focus has been very much on the Côte de Nuits, with often as little as just one barrel of each wine (300 bottles) being made. The intention from day one was to make wines in keeping with the Hudelot style; i.e. not over-extracted or overworked with the emphasis on purity of fruit and transparency. Each year some of the Crus change depending on what is available, but there is always a core of memorable appellations.
