These two domaines are shining beacons of what makes the 2022 vintage so special.
Last week we welcomed friends Thierry Pillot & Charles Van Canneyt to London to mark the much anticipated release of their 2022s. It was a night for the ages: Domaine Paul Pillot, with its whites of beaming radiance, poise and precision made for the perfect match with Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat, with its purity and elegant, unabashedly classical style. In this age of trends, Charles Van Canneyt remains steadfast in his pursuit of standing tall, making his wines in the style that he wants to make them – classical, destemmed and with new oak to a minimum.
These two domaines are shining beacons of what makes the 2022 vintage so special – a saline thread and energy to the whites, and for the reds, a life-affirming balance between purity, pinot fruit, and power.
Whilst there is more wine than in 2021, with the cellars running on empty, a lower percentage of the production than usual has been released. As such, we will need to allocate these wines: please send in your requests by Friday 22 March 10am.
